You’re looking at a 2022 Fender Stratocaster 1961 Custom Shop Wildwood 10 Journeyman in Taos Turquoise — a color so effortlessly cool it doesn’t try to impress anyone… it just quietly replaces their guitar in their mind.

This is peak early-’60s Strat confidence. Lightweight sorted alder, hand-wound Wildwood 10 pickups, and Vintage Mod #2 wiring with Tone Saver — which is Fender politely saying, “we fixed the thing that annoys everyone but no one talks about.”

Tone? Glassy, woody, articulate, alive. The kind that makes boutique pedals behave and amps suddenly sound like they’ve been practicing.

The Journeyman relic is that perfect “I gig… but I hydrate” level of wear. Broken-in without looking like it fell out of a van doing 60. And at a lively 7.1 lbs, it’s light enough that you’ll keep playing long after you meant to stop, then blame the guitar instead of your lack of self-control.

The maple neck has an unfinished back that feels suspiciously fast and comfortable, paired with a proper ’59-style carve measuring .860″ at the 1st and .980″ at the 12th — substantial enough to feel vintage, but not bulky enough to argue with you. The AAA rosewood board, 10″ radius, and narrow tall frets make bending effortless and chords ring like they’ve got something to prove.

Vintage-correct details everywhere, Wildwood 10 pedigree, and tone that politely reminds you why people obsess over Custom Shop Strats in the first place.

100% original, Custom Shop correct, and quietly convinced it’s the best guitar in the room.

It’s probably right.
