You are looking at a 2019 PRS DGT Dave Grissom Signature Private Stock in Natural Smoked Burst gloss, and yes… it’s about as subtle as a tuxedo at a backyard barbecue. The top? Hand-picked Private Stock spalted maple that looks like Mother Nature went wild with a Sharpie. Flip it over and you’ve got a figured mahogany back with cocobolo back plates, because PRS refuses to do “normal.” Add in a solid Brazilian rosewood neck (yes, solid — not a veneer, not “Brazilian-style,” the real rainforest deal), and you’ve got yourself one heck of a unicorn.
Now here’s where it gets spicy: this one was special-ordered with a PRS 509 single coil crammed right in the middle of the HSH layout, plus a 594 body thickness for some extra mahogany beef.
