2018 Warrior 62 Bella 5-String Bass Active w Birds-Eye Maple Board ~ Cherry Burst Oil Finish

Most basses are perfectly happy standing in the back of the band, holding down the low end and minding their own business. This one apparently never received that memo. This 2018 Warrior ’62 Bella 5-String shows up wearing a killer Cherry Burst Satin finish, a Birds-Eye maple fretboard that looks like somebody spent the upgrade budget twice, and enough boutique swagger to make the guitar player quietly check his bank account. At only 8.7 pounds, she’s comfortable enough for a four-hour gig and dangerous enough to make you volunteer for a bass solo—which, historically, has not always been a good idea.

Condition

She was born in 2018 and is in Very Good Condition, with light marks and minor scratches throughout. Nothing major—just the kind of honest play wear you get when somebody actually plays a great bass instead of keeping it locked in a case like evidence in a federal investigation. No major dings and no ugly surprises.

The Warrior J-style single-coils give you all the punch, clarity and growl you could ask for, and the active 3-band EQ lets you fine-tune things from warm and round to aggressive enough to make the sound guy look up from his phone. Volume, blend, bass, mid and treble are all right there, so if you can’t find a usable tone, we’re going to have to have an uncomfortable conversation about whose fault that is.

And then there’s that Birds-Eye maple fretboard. Good grief. You could probably remove the strings and sell the fretboard separately as artwork. Pair that with the satin maple neck, 24 frets and familiar 34″ scale, and this thing plays every bit as good as it looks.

Warrior also fitted her with Hipshot lightweight tuners and their own custom high-mass 5-string bridge, because apparently “good enough” was not invited to the meeting when this bass was designed.

Flip her over and you’ll find the engraved “Bella ’62” neck plate, just in case the guy standing behind you at the gig needs written confirmation that no, this is not a Fender.
