If a sunset in Miami, a jazz fusion record collection, and a lava lamp from 1978 all got locked inside the PRS factory after hours with unlimited access to flamed maple… this would be the result. This 2010 PRS Al Di Meola Prism doesn’t just have a finish — it has a full-blown identity crisis in the absolute best possible way.
Depending on the angle, lighting, and possibly planetary alignment… this thing is red, orange, purple, blue, green, and emotionally unavailable.
The top looks like somebody trapped a rainbow inside tiger-striped maple and then handed it directly to Al Di Meola while Return to Forever played at unsafe volume levels in the background.
And unlike many artist-model PRS guitars that spent their lives being overplayed at guitar clinics by dudes wearing dragon shirts and explaining modes to strangers… this one remains completely original and in very good condition with the original case and full case candy intact. Fresh new set of 10–46’s installed and ready to absolutely terrorize your pentatonic comfort zone.
At only 7.5 lbs, this thing is absurdly comfortable, and the Pattern-ish Al D neck carve feels fantastic — measuring .847″ at the 1st fret and .951″ at the 12th. Slim enough to fly, substantial enough to still feel like a real guitar and not a decorative cheese board.
And let’s talk about those Phase II locking tuners with ebony buttons for a second… because nothing says “classy fusion wizardry” quite like stealth wealth hardware on a guitar that already looks like it escaped from a high-end tequila commercial.
The 57/08 pickups are the secret sauce here. They can do:
- warm jazz fusion
- articulate cleans
- singing lead tones
- classic PRS punch
- and “accidentally played a 13th chord and now everybody thinks I went to Berklee.”

Born on May 7th, 2010 and still looking like Prince designed a PRS after discovering jazz fusion and expensive espresso machines. There are a few small cosmetic marks as shown in the photos, but overall this guitar has been extremely well cared for and remains a spectacular example of one of PRS’s wildest and coolest artist models ever produced.
Whoever brings this baby home is gonna be STOKED!!
LET’S GO!!
